University of Minnesota Victory and Gateway Parking Lots under construction

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The University of Minnesota was experiencing increasing parking demands on its Minneapolis campus. With expansion continuing in the northeast portion of the campus, and the presence of several nearby athletic arena venues, the University selected two sites for developing surface parking lots. Prior commitments by the University dictated that the project be designed, competitively bid and constructed on a fast track schedule. In addition to complying with stringent stormwater management requirements and contaminated soil disposal regulations, the designs needed to accommodate existing commercial development and proposed light rail improvements.
