St. Croix Bridge Stillwater, Minnesota

PROJECT DETAILS

Client: Minnesota Department of Transportation

Location: Stillwater, Minnesota

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Due to traffic congestion, structural deficiencies, and safety concerns with the 80-year old Stillwater Lift Bridge, the new St. Croix River Crossing will connect Minnesota and Wisconsin safely. The 4-lane crossing will connect expressways between the cities of Oak Park Heights, MN and St. Joseph, WI. In addition to the bridge, demolition plans for an Xcel barge unloader facility were developed. To reduce environmental impact, the new bridge and all associated roadways must be constructed with the minimum amount of grading possible.
