Project Challenge

The METRO Blue Line (formally Hiawatha Line) is the first light rail transit line in Minnesota, running from downtown Minneapolis to both the Lindbergh and Humphrey airport terminals, ending at the Mall of America.  The Blue Line has 17 stations, with timed connections to 46 bus routes.  Each station presented unique challenges in a crowded urban environment that parallels arterial route Highway 55 through southwest Minneapolis.
